As you all are well aware, I am a book nerd or book worm. Honestly, I prefer the term “book lion”, due to this funny but interesting video by a BookTuber, Christine May Riccio: https://youtu.be/vDNrprm93i8
Being a book lion not only means intense fangirling, saving up for book cons that are over a hundred dollars, and spending money on your MUST HAVE preorders…for me it means collecting book swag.
Book swag is book merchandise, for those who were unaware. Sort of like how you wear or buy jerseys for your favorite team or sport; that’s how I collect book swag.
You can obtain book swag through giveaways, book cons, and book signings.
But, being fairly new to the online book world at the time; I simply asked the authors.
It started with me anticipating Snow Like Ashes by Sara Raasch and talking to her before she was a published author. (She’s so nice!)
And, one day after about maybe 3 weeks- 1 month of talking with her; I found out what book swag was! So then I asked her to send me some.
And she agreed. ALL THE INTENSE FANGIRLING AND FLAILING.
After that, during that summer of 2014, as I read books and became fans of them, I just tweeted fangirl-esque tweets, got author follows; and they happily sent me swag! Yay!
